Pinguinbot will help you to drive a car

Pioneer not only does in-car entertainment systems, it apparently develops robots as well. Oddly resembling the good-natured younger brother of HAL 9000,The Pioneer Penguinbot aims to assist you in your daily commute via a variety of warnings, including upcoming red lights, going above the legal speed limit, and even informing you when you start to drive around aimlessly in unfamiliar territory. It warns when you're getting lost or passing by some point of interest, and also be the little avian friend you dreamed of every night since you were a child.Of course the Penguinbot is currently in the prototype stage,a fully developed version could rake in the big bucks for Pioneer as men would actually queue up to purchase a front-seat driver instead of listening to the nagging wife who's sitting behind with the kids:)))

Galmer Arbitrage GT

The vehicle features a full carbon-fiber body, 7L mid-mounted LS7 V8 and a rather roomy cockpit by supercar standards. Further, you can even option it with a digital touchscreen interface, a Pioneer AV unit and navigation system plus full accessories. The designers have gone so far as to include fingerprint recognition for entry into the vehicle.Cobra International will build only 350 units of the Arbitrage GT with 250 cars lined up for US delivery. The goal was to create a vehicle that is everything a supercar should be, including the mandatory fancy doors, but should also be a livable daily-driver. Utilizing a Gearfox six-speed transmission, the Arbitrage GT is capable of delivering 505hp although there’s the potential for almost 800hp from the Chevrolet sourced engine. It is being constructed with a carbon fiber monocoque chassis and mostly carbon fiber body that will cost hundreds of thousands of dollars less than the nearest competitor in it's class. The Galmer Arbitrage GT is a car designed to be everything that a sports car should be without the complexities that exist in other sports cars today. It is a back to basics approach while still using the best of available technology. This concept has given the Galmer Arbitrage GT it's three words that the team lives by everyday; PURE DESIGN, POWER AND PERFORMANCE. The words were prefaced by the understanding the car must be strikingly beautiful to the eye, be as light weight as possible, have a cockpit designed large enough to accommodate a basketball player, and most importantly, the owner should never be afraid to service or repair it. It is with these ideals that the Galmer Arbitrage GT was created . The Cobra International Galmer Arbitrage GT is a well funded project, with customers getting personalised service throughout the build process, and if things stay on schedule, which looks likely, track testing should begin in 2007 with the first deliveries taking place in 2008.

Mercedes-Benz Bionic Fish Car

When car designers start to work on a new project, they usually begin with sketches coming from their experience or their imagination. But when Mercedes-Benz engineers begin to think about a model for a bionic car, they went to the museum… to look at fish. Look at the photograph of the Australian boxfish, and of the Mercedes-Benz Bionic Fish Car. There are indeed similarities. The Scientist describes why they settled on this particular fish, which lives in coral reefs, has great structural strength but low mass. The Mercedes-Benz bionic car, a concept vehicle based on examples in nature, in which DaimlerChrysler has also transferred the diesel engine technology of the future to a fully functioning and practical car for everyday use. With such a low Cd value, it’s quite normal that this car doesn’t use much gasoline. In fact, this concept car consumes 4.3 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers (or 70 miles per US gallon), making it 20 percent more economical than a comparable standard-production model. Still it has a maximum speed of 190 km/h. Also, the Bionic Fish Car looks kind of like the old Pontiac LeMans, the one built in Korea by Daewoo in the late 1980s, which was evidently modeled after some Korean fish that dies prematurely, and then rusts:)))The Mercedes-Benz bionic car study will have its world premiere at this year’s DaimlerChrysler Innovation Symposium in Washington.

LG debuts "ebook" concept laptop with OLED screen, liquid fuel

LG introduced e-Book, an ecological laptop concept that uses fuel cell batteries and features OLED (organic light-emitting diode) display technology. The batteries work on natural gas, methanol, and other "Earth-friendly" kinds of liquefied fuel. The fuel is stored in a transparent cylindrical hinge. LG e-book don't need a bezel, and consume less electricity. The keypad will also be made of a singe OLED panel, like the one used in LG’s Chocolate Phone, according to the report. This concept notebook received a Red Dot Award nomination for “Best Concept Design” for 2006,a German prize for industrial design. I think it will be extremely expensive to build such a laptop.

Sony's new 4GB MP3 Player

Sony's recent offerings in the MP3 player market have established the technology giant as a real friend to the true audio fanatic. Rather than packing players full of additional features like digital video support, Sony instead focuses on getting the absolute most from your music. The NW-S706 is about the size of a disposable lighter, with a fade-to-black screen and a silver/chrome lining. Most distinctive, though, is the multi-functional swivel wheel mounted at the end, looking like something you might find on a futuristic submarine. The Sony NW-S706 is the latest flash based MP3 Players based on the block and is touted to be a NW-E/S hybrid player. This means in the near future expect a Bluetooth enabled flash MP3 Player. The former is a simple track search/skip control, but the folder mode allows you to instantly switch between songs according to a sort category you can set up from the main menu. This gives you an extra dimension in instant browsing and works extremely well. You'll find an FM radio built in and Sony claims up to 50 hours of battery time - an outstanding degree of stamina - along with a quick charge function that offers three hours of playback from three minutes of charge, which is ideal for a quick fix.Audio quality is outstanding, due in no small part to the excellent ear-bud 'phones Sony supplies, which by themselves all but eliminate ambient noise and also enable a specific noise filter function to improve things even more. We can say without hesitation that these are the best headphones we've seen supplied as standard with any MP3 player, and coupled with a massive range of audio modes they deliver truly excellent sound.

The Audi Quattroflex Concept Car

This concept car won the 'Best Use of Technology Award' in the 2006 Interior Motives Design Awards. This auto was Designed by Alexey Bykov, a student of the Ural State Academy of Arts and Architecture in Russia. The theory behind the Audi Quattroflex concept was to create a future vehicle which displayed "Emotion in Motion", and the similarity between the Quattroflex and olden-day horseless carriages was entirely intentional. The Quattroflex is composed of an open carriage manufactured from flexible materials set between front and back cylinders that serve to house the mechanics. And, rather than being controlled by a conventional steering wheel, the Quattroflex is driven using a joystick set in the centre of the vehicle – which cleverly allows for both left and right hand drive without modification.
